Well we made it to and on Easter Island. Only through the hard work of a crew that worked the hardest they have had to in my many years of tendering into and out of ports.
I had been invited to join Janet and Mike along with Jeff in their rental car. This is truly the best way to see this spectacular port of call. Here are just a few picture of this wonderful day:
Glad you were able to tender there. Your photos are awesome, thanks for sharing them. I enjoyed your knitting pictures too. I would love to learn how. Hmmmm, perhaps a World Voyage is what I need in order to learn. Nah, I would find something else to do.
Very nice photos – looks like you covered a lot of territory today. I do not remember seeing a picture of the crater before.
We had tender issues at the Cook Islands too – this year was even worse than last year. One of the tenders was damaged. The crew was amazing – could not believe how many people they literally had to lift. When I left to go ashore, they sent us on with only 10-15 people on board, even though there was a long line waiting to get on. At that point the landing steps were completely submersed, so they just sent those of us who had managed to get on board on our way. Both to an dfrom the ship was like a carnival ride (one of the few days passengers dared not complain about any tender issues).
