Been here before and so we did something a little different. We too the ship’s tour to Harrison’s Cave.
When we arrived at the caves, of course we had a restroom stop. We were all surprised as everything was so clean. Our tour guides, both on the bus and on the tram in the caves, were very good. Barbados has a 99.7% literacy rate and all their education is free to Barbados citizens including the universities. The children all wear uniforms to school. 85% of the population own their own homes. There is a law that states all beaches are free. If you build a home on the beach, you must have a public entrance. Even hotels must obey this law. Beef is rarely eaten. Fish and chicken are what they prefer. Even McDonalds went under on the island. However, KFC does very well.
Town is a about a mile and half from the ship and the walk has plenty of interesting things to see:
