March 9th, Oranjestad, Aruba

A very nice day for our last port of this cruise. This port is handicap accessible so Gloria was able to get off on the Power Scooter and drive around. We visited one of the local casinos and played the slots for about 2 hours and it was very enjoyable. The local port area is quite pleasant.  Here are a few pictures:

We had an early dinner in the Pinnacle Grill as Susan’s guests.  Matt, part of the Event Staff was also a guest.  It is always interesting to hear the stories of how a person came to work on a cruise ship.  He told us that the Prinsendam has the largest number of repeat guests in the fleet.

While eating dinner the ship left Aruba and then turned around to go back.  Two passengers had be taken off the ship.  They were taken off in a pilot boat that met the ship. The Cruise director, Thom, told us the doctor always has to make a decision on whether to evacuate passengers or not.  Even tough we are almost ending our cruise, we did have two full days at sea with no ports to evacuate.

We attended the show which was enjoyable.  Thom announced the winners of the photo contest.  One of the passengers we know won one of the categories.

Today we are getting our luggage delivered back to the room to start the packing process. Yuck!     And Gloria is not a happy camper.

    Hi Brad,
I am catching up a little on your terrific journal. You have got to be the best sunset photographer around. W0w! The reason I was offline for a couple of weeks is that Carolyn and I took a cruise that you recommended. We remarked to you that beautiful scenerywas our primiary objective. Hawaii was one of the places you recommended in that category and it delivered. Thanks for the great tip.
